What we offer Young Adult Carers (YACs)

It may be that you did not see yourself as a young adult carer, helping your loved one is “just something you do”. Being a carer can be so rewarding, being able to help your family can feel amazing, you may also have learnt lots of skills through caring.

However, caring can also come with additional pressures; trying to juggle caring with coursework, or having to stay in to care for your relative whilst trying to keep up with your social life. We recognise that as a carer you are doing amazing things, but sometimes you need extra guidance or advice, someone to listen to you, or help you to take a break from your caring role.

Blackpool Carers is a safe, friendly environment and our staff are here to support you, whatever your caring role. We can help you in lots of ways, including:

  • Benefits advice
  • Caring for someone with specific illnesses
  • Education & employment support
  • Emergency planning & other useful contacts
  • Headstart Resilience & wellbeing tips
  • What’s On? Activities and Respite
  • Young Adult Carers’ Podcast
  • Young Adult Carers’ true stories

If you just want someone to talk to, call 01253 393748 and ask to speak to Sam or Dom.
