Garden Team Volunteer
Beaverbrooks House, the home of Blackpool Carers Centre, is surrounded by a large garden and woodland area that provides a welcoming and safe space for our unpaid carers, some who are as young as five, to spend time and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors. The garden is maintained by our volunteer gardeners, corporate volunteers and donations from those who enjoy sharing their plants and expertise.
In 2025 we were awarded the Runners Up award for the Best Conservation Garden in Blackpool in Bloom and in June 2026 we will be opening as part of the National Garden Open Garden Scheme.
Our regular volunteers meet at the centre on a Thursday morning from 9.30 so you are always welcome to arrange a visit to find out more.
Young Adult Carers Group Volunteer

Our Young Adult Carers (YAC) Group meets on a Tuesday evening between 4.30pm and 6.30pm for time to relax, meet new people and have fun.
Our young carers support friends or family members with physical or mental health issues and they really appreciate some time to be themselves. You will need to be creative, a good communicator and able to respond to the individual needs of those who come along.
If you have the skills and enthusiasm, we provide training and support to enable you to help others. (You need to be aged over 24 to apply for this role.)
